Kirsten Galayda DDS
Dr. Galayda was born and raised in Metro Detroit. After completing her undergraduate studies at Georgetown University she received her DDS at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Galayda has attended many hours of continuing education, including several esthetic dentistry courses. She feels it's important to be involved in community service and has provided dental care and education to underserved children and older adults.
In her free time, Dr. Galayda enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
Katie Chaput-Shackleford, DDS
Dr. Shackleford was born and raised in metro Detroit. She graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2003 after attending Michigan State University for her undergraduate studies.
Dr. Shackleford is certified in Invisalign orthodontics and loves all areas of dentistry. She stays current with the latest in dental technology by attending several continuing education courses a year. It is important to Dr. Shackleford to treat her patients as family and she has a gentle touch.
Dr. Shackleford and her husband have twin boys that keep them very busy.
Thomas M. Collins, DDS
Dr. Collins was born and raised in the greater metropolitan Detroit area. He is a 1970 graduate of Detroit Catholic Central High School, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Michigan State University in 1974 and attaining his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Michigan in 1978.
Dr. Collins is currently an active member of the Detroit District Dental Society and the Michigan Dental Association. He is also a member of the American Academy of Straight Wire Orthodontics, completing more than 250 hours of continuing education in orthodontics alone. He enjoys performing all facets of dentistry.
The Downriver ties for Dr. Collins are strong. His father, Dr. Cyril Collins, began practicing dentistry in Lincoln Park in 1946 and his grandfather, the late William S. Mellus, was founder and publisher of the longtime Downriver icon, The Mellus Newspapers. In addition, he is a past member of the Lincoln Park Exchange Club.
Dr. Collins and his wife of 39 years have two daughters and three grandchildren to date. Dr. Collin's wife is retired from teaching in the Plymouth School System and is busier than when "she worked". When away from the office, Dr. Collins enjoys golf and the great Northern Michigan summers.
